MRF Tyres extends Australian Rally Championship control tyre partnership through 2030
Long-term agreement reinforces MRF Tyres' commitment to international rallying, extending its successful control tyre partnership with Australia's premier rally championship through 2030.
MRF Tyres is proud to announce a new long-term agreement with the EROAD Australian Rally Championship (ARC), promoted by IEG Innate Event Group, extending its role as the championship’s exclusive control tyre supplier through to the end of the 2030 season.
The renewal represents a significant vote of confidence in the performance, reliability and technical development of MRF Tyres, strengthening a partnership that has already become a benchmark within international rallying. MRF Tyres first served as the ARC control tyre supplier from 2017 to 2019 before returning to the championship in 2024. Following the current agreement covering the 2024-2026 seasons, the new extension will secure the partnership through 2030, underlining the strong relationship built between MRF Tyres, championship organisers and competitors.
The EROAD Australian Rally Championship is Australia’s premier rally competition, bringing together the country’s leading drivers, co-drivers and teams across some of the most demanding and diverse rally environments in the world. Australian rallying presents a unique technical challenge. Fast roads, rough gravel surfaces, high temperatures and constantly changing conditions require tyres capable of delivering exceptional durability, consistent performance and precise handling throughout an event. These characteristics have been central to the development philosophy of MRF Tyres and have contributed significantly to the success of the partnership.
The extension further reinforces MRF Tyres’ growing presence across international rallying. Alongside its successful programmes in the FIA European Rally Championship, the company continues to serve as the control tyre supplier in key national and international competitions, including the New Zealand Rally Championship, the Latvian Rally Championship and the renowned Safari Classic Rally in Kenya.
Vivek Ponnusamy, MRF Tyres Representative:
“This agreement is an important milestone for MRF Tyres and a testament to the trust placed in our products and technical capabilities. The Australian Rally Championship provides one of the toughest proving grounds in world rallying. The variety of surfaces, the rough conditions and the competitive level of the championship create an environment where tyre performance is constantly tested. We have worked closely with organisers, teams and competitors to continue developing our products and providing the highest level of support. We are proud to continue this journey together through 2030. The renewal reflects not only the quality and consistency of our tyres, but also the dedication of everyone involved in building this partnership over many years. Australia remains a key market and an important part of our global rally programme. The renewed agreement ensures that MRF Tyres will continue supporting competitors throughout the ARC’s next chapter while further advancing tyre development in one of rallying’s most demanding competitive environments”.
Adrian Coppin, ARC Championship Director:
“Having locked in a control tyre supplier for the next four years is an important outcome for the championship and we’re proud to be able to continue our relationship with MRF Tyres. The feedback from competitors on the control tyre has been overwhelmingly positive since MRF Tyres returned, as it’s a solid tyre that performs well across the wide range of conditions. MRF has also presented a fair and reasonable price for competitors, which was a key factor in the decision-making process, as having a tyre package that delivers both performance and bang-for-buck is extremely important for the longevity of the competition and keeping stakeholders happy. On behalf of everyone in the EROAD Australian Rally Championship, I look forward to working with MRF Tyres for the next four years and building on an already successful partnership.”
Tony Sullens, Pinnacle Tyres MRF Agent:
“We are delighted to have secured the tender to remain the exclusive control tyre supplier for the EROAD Australian Rally Championship until the end of 2030. Over the past two seasons we have worked closely with organisers, teams and competitors to deliver a tyre package capable of meeting the unique challenges of Australian rallying, and our commitment to Australian rallying should give everyone confidence moving forward. We look forward to continuing our support of the championship and contributing to the ongoing growth and success of rallying in Australia for many years to come.”
